Kathiana Amazan


Kathiana Amazan joined the Foundation in 2020.

A first-generation and former Boston Public Schools student, Kathiana supports Nellie Mae’s mission as she believes all students should have access to equitable public education and opportunities to realize their full potential.

Prior to joining Nellie Mae, Kathiana served as the Operations Coordinator for the Letters Foundation in Boston, Massachusetts. The Letters Foundation provided one-time humanitarian grants to individuals experiencing hardship when no other options existed.  As the Operations Coordinator, Kathiana monitored and supported the day-to-day Letters process operations, organized events and training for volunteers, and orchestrated all aspects of office administration.

Kathiana has also served as a Clinical Research Coordinator at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute managing research focused on the use of integrative therapies, a Project Coordinator at the Boston Public Health Commission working on community-based initiatives, and a Program Assistant at Building Educated Leaders for Life, supporting their English Language Learners program.

Kathiana holds a B.S. in Public Health and Political Science from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
